Tripadvisor is the largest travel review site in the world, with hundreds of millions of reviews of hotels, restaurants and attractions, and a hotel price comparison that sends users out to booking partners. Its affiliate program is unusual because it pays on those click outs rather than on completed stays, which makes it one of the few travel programs that earns from research traffic.

The program runs on CJ Affiliate and pays at least 50 percent of the commission Tripadvisor receives from its hotel booking partners when a user arrives through your link and clicks out to a partner within the cookie window, which is 14 days. Because Tripadvisor is paid per click by partners, you are paid whether or not the user books, though the amounts per click are small. Applications are reviewed on CJ, and Tripadvisor supplies deep links and widgets. Payouts follow CJ's monthly schedule.

Paying on clicks means volume matters far more than conversion, so high traffic destination content is the right fit.
