What it does
Awin, formed from the 2007 merger of Affiliate Window and Zanox and headquartered in Berlin under Axel Springer, is one of the largest affiliate networks by advertiser and publisher count, reporting over 25,000 advertisers and more than 1 million publishers worldwide.
It acquired ShareASale in 2017 and completed a full platform migration in 2025, so the two are now one combined network rather than separate platforms.
A distinguishing quirk: Awin requires a one-off registration deposit at signup (sources report figures ranging from $1 to $5, so confirm the current amount on the signup page), used to filter out bot and spam applications; the deposit is refunded automatically once a publisher reaches their first payment threshold.
Beyond that, promoting programs is free. Coverage spans nearly every vertical, retail, fashion, travel, software, finance, and lifestyle among them, with cookie durations and commission rates set individually by each advertiser and commonly running 30 to 90 days. Payments are typically processed on Net-30 terms via bank transfer, PayPal, or Payoneer/Wise, with a minimum threshold around $20 for US publishers, one of the lower thresholds among major networks.
