What it does

ClickBank is a marketplace rather than a classic network. It acts as the retailer of record for more than 4,000 products, mostly digital courses, software and supplements, and pays affiliates a share of each sale. It has operated since 1999, reports more than $7.3 billion in commissions paid and 100,000 active affiliates, and points to zero missed payments in its history.

Commissions are the draw. Sellers set revenue shares that often run 50% to 75%, and ClickBank advertises rates up to 90% on some offers, alongside CPA deals for media buyers. Every product is vetted for FDA and FTC compliance before listing, and device-level tracking attributes sales across devices. Sellers customise order forms and upsells, and the Spark platform teaches new affiliates how the marketplace works.

Affiliates join free. The default payment threshold is $100 and can be set anywhere from $10 upward; payments go out weekly or every two weeks by direct deposit, wire or cheque, with a $5 processing fee per payment. Sellers pay a one-time $49.95 activation fee when their first product is approved, then ClickBank keeps 7.5% plus $1 of each sale.

ClickBank rewards affiliates who understand direct-response marketing and can drive paid or email traffic to offers. It is a poor fit for editorial sites that want to recommend mainstream retail brands; look at CJ or Awin for that.
