ShareASale has been a fixture of US affiliate marketing since 2000, and for many publishers it is where the merchants you cannot find anywhere else live: independent retailers, WordPress theme and plugin shops, craft and homeware brands, and thousands of mid sized ecommerce stores that never joined the bigger networks.

The important news is structural. Awin bought ShareASale in 2017 and is now bringing both onto a single platform, directing new advertisers to launch on Awin rather than signing up for ShareASale separately. Existing programs and publisher accounts continue to run, but if you are choosing a network today you are effectively choosing Awin, and you should plan on that consolidation rather than building around ShareASale as a separate long term home.

The mechanics publishers know it for stay familiar: merchant by merchant approval, per merchant cookie lengths that often run 30 to 90 days, datafeeds, deal and coupon listings, and monthly payments on the 20th once you pass $50. Its interface always looked dated next to newer platforms, which the migration addresses.

Join it for the merchant catalogue, particularly if you write about niche retail or WordPress products. Just read anything you sign with an eye on the move to Awin, and keep your links in a manager you can update in bulk.
