UpPromote is the affiliate and referral app most Shopify merchants meet first, and its free plan is the reason. You get one affiliate program, link and coupon tracking, a registration form, performance analytics and fraud detection at no cost, up to $3,000 of referral orders reviewed each month.

Paid tiers add scale and a performance fee that shrinks as you grow. Growth is $29.99 a month plus 2 percent of referred sales and unlocks unlimited programs, premium forms, customer referral and store credit payments. Professional is $89.99 plus 1.5 percent and adds unlimited coupons, anti leak discount protection, automatic PayPal payouts, multi level marketing and gifting. Enterprise is $199.99 plus 1 percent with unlimited staff accounts, multi store sync and custom development. Annual billing saves about 17 percent, and Shopify Plus merchants get custom pricing with a dedicated success manager.

A Creator Discovery add on starts at $39 a month for finding new partners, and UpPromote runs free migration if you are moving from another tool.

The thing to model before committing is that performance fee. At meaningful volume, 2 percent of referred sales can exceed the subscription several times over, which is where flat priced competitors start to look better. Below that, the free plan is the easiest start in this category.
