What it does

Trackonomics is the publisher-side platform that impact.com bought in March 2021 and now runs as its commerce-content toolkit. It describes itself as the only data management platform built for e-commerce affiliates, and its customers are large media brands: BuzzFeed, American Media and Android Authority appear in its testimonials.

The platform does three jobs. It aggregates transaction data from the networks a publisher works with into one reporting layer. It automates link creation across networks, so an editor pastes a retailer URL and gets the best-paying tracked link without visiting each network. And it monitors links, flagging broken destinations and out-of-stock products before they cost revenue. Sub-ID tracking ties every transaction back to the page and placement, giving full-funnel attribution at link level, and a Chrome extension brings the tools into the writing workflow.

Pricing is not published and the product is sold through demos, which fits its audience. Being part of impact.com means tight integration with that platform's programs, though it still reads from other networks.

Trackonomics is the right conversation for a publishing group with editorial teams and a commerce director. Smaller sites should look at Affilimate or WeCanTrack, which sell the same ideas at a size that fits.
