Canva Apps Premium Program

Canva lets developers build apps that run inside its design editor and list them in the Canva Apps Marketplace, reaching Canva's very large base of users. Canva has reported that apps have been used more than a billion times, with developers in over 120 countries.

The Premium Apps Program is Canva's way of paying developers. Eligible developers earn recurring revenue each month based on how often their premium app is used inside Canva, so earnings grow with engagement rather than depending on users paying for the app directly. Apps still in development can receive grants to help cover build costs and reach launch.

Alongside it, the Canva Developers Innovation Fund supports free-to-use apps. It offers development grants and adoption awards that pay cash as apps reach usage milestones, and Canva has said the fund aims to support developers from markets that are often overlooked by venture capital. Canva announced a $50 million fund to reward apps based on aggregate usage.

Apps go through a review before they are listed in the Canva Apps Marketplace. Because Canva's users range from individuals to large marketing teams, apps that add useful content, AI features or connections to other tools can find a wide audience.

It suits developers and SaaS companies building design, content, AI generation and productivity tools that fit naturally inside Canva's editor.
