Slack Marketplace

The Slack Marketplace is where companies list apps and integrations for Slack, putting them in front of the organisations that run their work in Slack. Listing is free, and approved apps get a marketplace page with images, video and descriptions to show what they do.

Apps go through a review against Slack's guidelines before they are listed, covering functionality, security and how the app handles data. Slack's review guide sets out what reviewers look for, and Slack offers certifications for developers building on its platform.

Listing matters more since 2025. Slack changed its terms so that apps distributed outside the Marketplace face much lower rate limits on two methods that read message history, conversations.history and conversations.replies. The change applied to new non-Marketplace apps from mid-2025 and to existing installations from March 2026. Marketplace apps and internal company apps kept their normal limits. Slack said the change was to protect conversation data from unvetted apps.

For software companies whose product reads or summarises Slack conversations, such as AI assistants, search and knowledge tools, being listed in the Marketplace is now close to essential.

It suits SaaS companies that integrate with Slack, from project management and customer support tools to AI and analytics products.
